Goodbye, Stranger

12/25/19

I was traveling to visit people yesterday when I passed an accident on the road. A motorcyclist had collided with a large vehicle. The motorcyclist was on the ground and paramedics were rhythmically performing CPR. People were standing on the side of the road watching. There was a traffic light ahead. As I waited at the light I watched the scene in my rear view window. The paramedic stopped performing CPR right before the light turned green.

This morning I confirmed his death in the paper. He was only 21. The newspaper article had some details wrong. The reporter wasn’t there, of course, they were basing their article on the accident report.
